We had until August 30th 2008 to complete as many of these tasks as we could:

*Recycle printer cartridges

 *If you regularly purchase bottled water, cut back and use glass or other containers that are reusable for water.  You must go 1 week without buying new water bottles.  

*Use recyclable bags at the grocery store.  Most stores are selling reusable grocery bags.  They look small but they hold a ton!  Most stores also offer an incentive to use them by giving you a discount per bag each time you shop.  If you must use plastic bags at the grocery store, save them and put them in the recycling bin at the store or try to reuse them.  

*Recycle old Electronics.  Time to get rid of those old electronics collecting dust.  Most towns offer a recycling program that has collections during the year of old electronics.   

*Change at least 4 light bulbs in your home to the new compact fluorescent bulbs.  The incandescent ones are going to be extinct in the next few years anyway.  

*Instead of taking the car, walk to a local event (such as church or the store).  You must do this 2 times.  

*Plant a tree or garden – if you already have a garden, plant something new that will come up every year.
